Abstract

This article analyzes the pedagogical possibilities of the transcription method in jazz piano performance, as well as its role in developing students’ performance skills, improvisational thinking, and musical hearing abilities. In jazz pedagogy, the transcription method is considered one of the important teaching approaches based on listening to professional pianists’ performances, transcribing them into musical notation, analyzing them, and applying them in practical performance activities. During the research, methods such as theoretical analysis, comparative approach, and pedagogical observation were employed. In addition, the article develops methodological recommendations aimed at increasing the effectiveness of the transcription method in modern jazz education
